2024 NEWS

Happy New Year from your Oceanside Action Partnership Board!

We are DETERMINED.

We are ENGAGED.

We are UNITED.

Spreading the word

As we enter the beginning of a new year OAP would like to take a moment and thank everyone who participated and partnered with us last year to create and achieve what turned out to be an extremely productive and rewarding community coalition. With the hope of building on the momentum created we want to recap and highlight all of the accomplishments already realized in such a short amount of time. These results serve to demonstrate your determination, engagement and unity in improving our community.

The highlights we realized in 2023 are as follows:

  • Banded together for OCC to receive $58,500 in TLT funding for the Upper Parking Lot resurface and completed the project.
  • Assisted in fulfilling the requirements to complete the Stair Lighting Project to close the PUD Grant.
  • Partnered with Tillamook Public Works, TrailKeepers of Oregon, Tillamook Coast Visitors Association, Netarts WEBS, Netarts Oceanside Fire Protection District and submitted a grant for the Short Beach Trail redesign and redevelopment.
  • Formed a Trails Team which is busy mapping trails connecting all neighborhoods and considering next steps, as well as informing the local community about the "Recreational Immunity" issue and circulating the Protect Oregon Recreation petition.
  • Organized a Cell Reception Team which is busy researching options and bringing partners to the table.
  • Designated a Signage Team that has already identified potential sites and is working on designs and sign content, while exploring funding from WayFinding.
  • Organized and convened a meeting for all partners to create a water district intertie between Oceanside and Netarts Water Districts for use in an emergency.
  • Initiated the formation of a Mixed Use Path Team that has met with ODOT and Public Works and outlined a plan to develop this project.

We have over 212 participants (and growing) representing all corners of Oceanside, commercial partners, public staff and elected officials. There is room for everyone interested in joining. Please check out our webpage at oceansideactionpartnership.org and let us know how you would like to help.

Please join in and spread the word! We want everyone to be included.

Oceanside Community Workshops Complete; What's Next?

We are thrilled!
We are thrilled with the excellent turnout for the workshop series. Workshop III had 53 in person and zoom callers join the 4 hour session. Amazing commitment! We raise our glass to you civic-minded Oceansiders and partners; your love of Oceanside is crystal clear.
We are thrilled with the professionally managed process led by Nan Devlin and Dan Haag. The integrity, experience, and insight made such a difference.
We are thrilled with the county support we have received through sponsorship, coaching, and participating.
We are thrilled to be building new relationships and making new friends, connecting the dots in who does what, and learning the possibilities.
We will receive a summary of the workshop series from TCVA sometime next month (August). In early September we will have another community meeting and confirm our priorities. At the Sept Meeting we will also be starting the formation of our small teams to manage each of the priorities. Hopefully by then we will have received our IRS Determination Letter for tax exempt status and we can really dive in together.
If you were unable to attend the workshops and would like to voice your priority projects please reach out to me (or any other OAP Board Member) and we will ensure your ranking is included in the final count.

Thank you again, until Sept.

Our third action-packed workshop will be held July 24th from 2:00-6:00 pm

Location: Oceanside Community Center.

All Oceansiders are invited, as well as all partners and public officials.

This is the third of three community workshops that will result in the creation of a community investment plan for our future.

The excitement is growing and our community is engaged. Oceansiders and our partners are active and involved in finding pathways forward together. It is thrilling to witness the collaborative brain-power at work.

Please plan to join all three workshops. We are looking to include a zoom call option again, but joining in person always yields the best results. This workshop will again be hosted by Nan Devlin, Executive Director of Tillamook Coast Visitors Association. Nan has worked with many of our neighboring communities to help them in this same way with terrific results.

If you would like to make new friends from other neighborhoods, deepen relationships with our county and community partners, learn what is happening, and see where you can help, please plan to attend.

Many of us are amazed at the level of county support some neighboring communities are receiving. Uniting our voice, forming a unified community plan, and working closely with our county officials will be an excellent way for Oceanside to share in these county awarded project fundings. This has been proven in our neighboring communities. Now is our turn, so please don't miss out.

We are looking forward to making new friends, deepening relationships with our county and community partners, and improving Oceanside works in the process. Please plan to attend and spread the word!
