The Oceanside Action Partnership's Roads & Parking Team has begun planning for future improvements at Symons Point. The team is developing a project timeline, identifying key partners, and outlining the coordination that will be required. This will be a long-term initiative involving multiple agencies and stakeholders, and we look forward to sharing additional updates as planning progresses.

The team will also be meeting with Chris Laity, Director of Tillamook County Public Works, to discuss the possible realignment of several village streets. This effort is currently in the research phase and is focused on improving public safety. Some of Oceanside's streets are simply too narrow to safely accommodate two-way traffic and on-street parking. As ideas are developed, the Oceanside Neighborhood Association will host public meetings to gather community input before any changes are considered.

Our June 17 pothole repair work continues to hold up well under summer traffic. We appreciate the support and partnership of Tillamook County Public Works in helping us maintain safer roadways throughout the community.

Looking ahead, Oceanside remains on schedule for Tillamook County's planned pavement improvements later this summer. In addition, Tillamook County Public Works has ordered flashing "Slow Down – Watch for Pedestrians" warning signs for installation on Cape Meares Loop Road at the Short Beach Trail crossing. With increased summer visitation, there have been several close calls involving pedestrians crossing the roadway or accessing parked vehicles. These new safety enhancements will help improve visibility and encourage motorists to slow down in this heavily used area.
