Improving Cell Reception Team Update

July 28, 2026, Yuriy Chanba, Team Coordinator

The Oceanside Action Partnership's Cell Reception Team is pleased to share encouraging news: Tillamook County has received a permit application for a proposed 195-foot wireless communications tower designed to improve AT&T cellular coverage for Oceanside. While this application is being advanced independently by New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC, it represents another positive step toward addressing our community's long-standing need for reliable cellular service.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the OAP Cell Reception Team for their years of dedication in building relationships with wireless infrastructure companies, carriers, public agencies, and community partners while continually advocating for improved service in Oceanside. Their persistence has helped ensure that our community's significant coverage gaps—our "dead zones"—are recognized by the telecommunications industry and the need for improved service remains front and center. We also thank the many residents and visitors who responded to our request to contact their wireless providers and report coverage problems. Every complaint helped amplify Oceanside's voice and reinforced the critical importance of reliable cellular coverage for public safety, emergency communications, residents, businesses, and visitors.
The team will continue working with all partners and technologies to support solutions that bring dependable communications to Oceanside.
Thank you for your consideration and support!
Bruce Jaeger, OAP
