Oceanside Albion Path Team

Oceanside Albion Path Team (Shared Use Path Team) is working hard to affirm definitions, define the scope of the project, and continue engagement with State, County and Local Staff and Elected officials. 

The Shared Use Path Team has been working closely with DOWL Engineering to refine the concept-level design and GIS survey for the proposed pathway. During this process, it became clear that a new project name would better reflect the route and the collection of public lands and corridors that make up the vision. The project will now be known as the Oceanside Albion Path.

Team Coordinator Paul Wyntergreen shares the inspiration behind the name:

"New Albion was the name Sir Francis Drake gave to this region of the Pacific Northwest centuries before permanent European settlement. Although he did not discover the Columbia River, our coastal capes were among the landmarks he observed as he sailed these shores. The name recognizes the area's rich maritime history while celebrating the timeless beauty and significance of our coastline."
