The Oceanside Action Partnership’s Roads and Parking Team continues to make visible improvements throughout our community, thanks to the hard work of volunteers and the support of our community partners.

New Bollards Improve Pedestrian Access

The team recently installed two bollards at the bottom of the public stairs across from the Oceanside Community Club and Post Office. OAP identified the need for the bollards after hearing concerns that vehicles were parking too close to the bottom of the stairs, making access difficult—particularly for older residents and others who rely on this important pedestrian connection.

The new bollards will help keep the stairway entrance clear and provide safer, more reliable pedestrian access.

Tillamook Avenue Work Party

OAP volunteers also held a work party to clear brush and blackberries along Tillamook Avenue behind the Netarts-Oceanside Fire Station. During the work, volunteers discovered another culvert in need of cleaning and cleared vegetation so the existing “No Parking” signs are once again clearly visible.

The team also trimmed the historic alder tree near the stairs, improving both its appearance and the surrounding area. A special thank you to Kris Woolpert for sharing her arborist expertise and providing the use of her dump truck.

Altogether, volunteers hauled more than 1,200 pounds of vegetation to the recycler. The results are a significant and very visible improvement to this part of Oceanside.

Get Ready—Paving Is Coming!



Residents may have already noticed paving equipment and Tillamook County Public Works crews in the village. Crews are trimming vegetation and marking the areas scheduled for work in preparation for asphalt paving planned after Labor Day.

We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation while this important work is underway. Please watch for construction activity and temporary parking restrictions in the affected areas.

Property owners are also asked to make their family members, guests, renters, and visitors aware that vehicles should not be parked within the public right-of-way on streets where paving work is actively underway. Keeping these areas clear will help Public Works crews complete the work safely and efficiently.

The Roads and Parking Team is excited to see these improvements moving forward and appreciates Tillamook County Public Works, our community partners, and OAP volunteers for their continued work to make Oceanside safer, more accessible, and better maintained.
